How to export your X (Twitter) bookmarks
The short answer
At the time of writing, X's “Download an archive of your data” doesn't include your bookmarks, and X has no bookmark export button. To get them out, bring them into stashd (connect X, or use the browser extension for your full history), then export from Settings as Markdown for Obsidian, CSV or JSON.
Why X's data archive isn't enough
X lets you download an archive of your account (your posts, messages and account history), but bookmarks aren't part of it at the time of writing. And the Bookmarks page has no export button. So the only ways out are copying links one by one or using a tool.
Export your bookmarks with stashd
- Bring them in. Sign up free and connect X to import your most recent bookmarks in about a minute. For everything, including old bookmarks, use the browser extension on a computer: open your bookmarks, click Sync, and it scrolls the whole list for you.
- Let them sort. Each bookmark gets a title, summary, topic, type and the tools it mentions, so your export is more than a list of links.
- Export. In Settings → Export, choose Markdown / Obsidian, CSV or JSON. You can also select some saves in the Library and export just those.
What's in the export
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Title and summary | A plain-language title and a short summary of the post |
| Text and link | The post text and a link back to the original on X |
| Author | Name and handle |
| Topic, type, tools | How stashd sorted it |
| Status and notes | To revisit, Done or Archived, and any notes you added |
Which format to pick
- Markdown for Obsidian or any notes app: one readable file, with a link back to each post.
- CSV for a spreadsheet: one row per bookmark, easy to filter and share.
- JSON if you're a developer and want to feed your bookmarks into your own tools.
Export is part of the Pro and Max plans. On any plan, including Free, you can ask and we'll send you a copy of your library. No lock-in.
Questions
Does X's data download include bookmarks?
Not at the time of writing. The archive covers your own posts, messages and account history, but not the posts you've bookmarked.
Can I export more than my most recent bookmarks?
Yes. The stashd browser extension reads your bookmarks page and scrolls it to the end, so it brings in older bookmarks too, not just the most recent ones.
Can I export my X bookmarks to Notion or Obsidian?
Yes. Export as Markdown for Obsidian, or as CSV to import into Notion as a database.
